MIS Lecture- Undercover Boss

Mr Christopher Lim played a video about Undercover Boss, of the organization 7-Eleven.I rather find that video was interesting and i learned quite alot from it.

The video briefly describes the CEO of 7-eleven wanted to know more about the issues faced, the employees that is employed. The CEO went undercover as an employee and went to many different 7-eleven to observe and learned.

Lesson learned from the video:

1.Great employee makes an organization good.
2.Bosses who willing to listen make a difference in the company

After the video, Mr Christopher asked us to identify what makes an good employee and boss.

Some of the characteristic of an good employee are:
1.Passion for work
2. Willing to go and extra mile
3. Relationships between customers and bosses

Some of the values of a good boss are
1.Listen
2.Assertiveness
3.Able to see beyond the job,as in ability of an employee

I agree with Mr.Chris that a degree that we are taking now should change perception towards what we originally think and changes of thinking is for the better.

Interview with Backofen

Interview with Mr.Soloman is fun!

We had interviewed Backofen for our  Business Communication Project. We are very nervous at first because we are afraid that Mr.Soloman will not be able to conect with us. But, we were wrong, everything went out fine and fun!

Mr.Soloman is a fun, attentive person person when we get to know him better. He is very cooperative answering questions and jokes during the interview. His jokes make us laugh the entire session and later on, we had dinner at Backofen.

Lesson learnt after interview:
1.Be prepared answering the employer's question
2. Relax and calm down during interview
3. Smile always!

OB building activity

As a business student, we may think that we only have to only ''touch'' books where there are no chances to do hands on project. WE ARE WRONG! One of our subject,Organizational Behavior had offered us a well designed course where we have debates, presentations and also a building model project.

Our group which consists of 5 members had decided to build a fast food restaurant that named Sano Burger. ''Sano'' is a Italian word that stands for delicious. We chosen all recycled items to make the modal.

These are some pictures during the building activity.

We had alot of fun making the modal. Team work and good time management is needed because the given time line to build the modal is only 2 hours! We are very satisfied of the structure and the design of our building!

Community Service- PAWS

PAWS (Paws Animal Welfare Society) is established a small group of local and expatriate volunteers. It is located  Subang Airport Road. PAWS act as a shelter for animals that had lost their home and now  still standing strong currently homes around 400 cats and dogs.

My group of friends had decided to contribute in PAWS.
One of the compound for the dogs!

There are over 200 dogs inside the compound. We were quite scared at first because the dogs are very excited and barking all the way. The person in charged says that they are excited to have guest and they know we are going to bring them for a walk and bath them soon. So, the dogs are very happy!

Walking the dogs along the pathway.

2nd round of walking different types of dogs.

Later on, we then started to bath the dogs. The dogs are very hard to control as they are moving everywhere and we had to get whole of it to make it stand still.
i washing dogs.

After 3 rounds of washing the dogs,Mr.Lim, the person in charged told us that we could walk around and play with the puppies. We ended our job and started surveying the compound of Paws.

A special compound build for puppies.

 Group pictures with the puppies.

One and only monkey at PAWS.

A video that we captured,enjoy!

We had great fun servicing the dogs and cats at PAWS. We are aware that there are lack of hands to take care of the animals, and thats why we chose to came here. Mr.Lim says that there are many regular volunteers that come twice a week to feed, wash and also contribute food to the animals. We also had bought some supplies for PAWS.

What a satisfying community service!
